True Travel Stories and Advice from Wise Women
Karen Is Heading to Australia and New Zealand. So we have a SPECIAL OFFER!
Myrna Marofsky

Some people are just so lucky. Karen and her husband will be heading to the South Pacific for a three week adventure in Australia and New Zealand. She has promised to write a travelogue as she goes. So stay tuned.

In the meantime, we are making a SPECIAL OFFER to anyone who will be traveling to Australia or New Zealand this year. Order a WisePack™ travel backpack purse and receive a FREE Mini tote/shopper. Then we hope you will let us know how you used your bag in your travels. Just enter Coupon Code AUSTRALIA when you make your purchase and we will ship your WisePack™ and Mini tote/shopper in time for you to enjoy.

We now have a significant group of WiseWomen who have WisePack™ in Australia. They have told us that they can't find anything like them in their country. By the way they call a backpack a "rucksack" and typically it is a rugged trail bag.

I thought one of the reasons so many people travel to Australia and New Zealand is that they speak English. Well a little digging resulted in some important translations that may prove helpful to know.

Here are a few:
Sweater = Jumper
Flip Flops = Thongs
Candy = Lollies
Bar = Pub
French fries = Chips
Diaper = Nappy
Crib = Cot
Pacifier = Dummy
Fanny Pack= Bum Bag
Entrée = Appetizer
Appetizer = Entrée

If you want seem less like a tourist you might use these slang words.
Australian = Aussie
New Zealander = Kiwi
Beer = Cold One, Stubby, Pot
Really! = Fairdinkum
Friend = Mate
Man = Bloke, Fella
It'll be OK = She'll be right
Great = You Beaut, You Beauty!
